With half of the country staying or working from home we find a majority of us NOT wearing any makeup. While makeup can bring a sense of identity, confidence, and creativity for most of us, there are some benefits to letting your skin breath every once in a while…
Fewer allergic reactions: If you have sensitive skin or have experienced an allergic reaction to a product before, this “time off” for your skin can be rejuvenating! Let your skin get back to it’s natural healthy state without any irritations. Your pores will look smaller: While makeup can and usually does make your pores look smaller, if you are not using high quality products it can clog your pores having the adverse effect when you take off your makeup! Clean your skin and give it an opportunity to breath without putting makeup on immediately again like clockwork. This can help reduce the size of your pores in the long-run. You'll experience fewer breakouts: Speaking of clogged pores, you may experience fewer breakouts during this time. While not adding product to your skin you allow your pores to shrink. This helps also keep dirt and grime out of your pores also. Fewer eye infections: Sometimes eye makeup can bring eye infections. When not using eye makeup regularly your chances of getting styes and other infections obviously go down. When you are wearing makeup always make sure you are cleaning any makeup tools used regularly (eyelash curler, eye shadow brushes, ect), replacing old makeup, and not sharing makeup. Time to test your products: Some of the products you are using may not have been made for your type of skin. You may not even notice the effect they can have until you stop using them. You might be using a foundation more geared towards oily skin and it could be reacting poorly to the skin type you have. Letting your skin breath can be a good test of these products. You may find that the brand you’ve been using for years is actually hurting rather than helping.
