Use Sunscreen:
Not only do you want to utilize sunscreen for when you are out and about at the beach or the pool but you want to use it anytime you will be in the sunlight for an extended period. And although you want to protect your body you can't forget about your face! Using face sunscreen has been shown to dramatically help in aging and the creation of wrinkles. Each time your skin burns it ages prematurely. Keeping your skin safe from the harsh sunlight and burning will be valuable to your skin health later in life as well as presently! Heat & UV Protectant: Did you know that your hair also needs protection from UV and heat from sunlight? There are certain products out there including some heat protectant sprays that protect your hair health and your color from decreasing with the summer sunshine. Often summer brings pools, chlorine, and saltwater. These things can damage your color or diminish it greatly. Use some protecting products to keep your hair safe! Self-tanners: When utilizing self-tanners we generally want them to look and feel like a natural tan. We can't all tan evenly, easily, or take the risk with our skin to stand outside and get an overall tan. Self and fake tanners come in handy for people who fall into those categories. Not only are self-tanners safer than tan by sunlight but getting an all-natural self-tanner is even better. To increase your tan and ensure it is even and natural looking it is recommended to exfoliate your skin before applying. Another tip for application is not to rush through this process. It takes a little bit of time to carefully apply but you will be much happier when there are no streaks or blotchy spots. Slow down and you will be much happier with your tan for the days to come. Moisturizer: Often with the summer can come dry weather. The spring showers have gone bye-bye and we are left with dry, scratchy heat. Of course, not all areas of the country or world experience this type of summer but for those who do the arid heat of this season can affect every aspect of your beauty routine. For both your hair and skin, we recommend using leave-in conditioners and moisturizers. Choosing the correct facial moisturizer for your skin can be trial and error but here are a few extra tips to consider. - Do you have naturally oily skin? Getting a purifying or lighter moisturizer will help cut down on the oil while moisturizing your skin. - How dry is your environment? You may want to think about getting a more heavy-duty moisturizer if your skin is screaming for help. - Does it mix well with your other products? If the other skincare products in your routine are based around moisturizing adding ANOTHER moisturizing component might be too much. We hope these beauty tips will help keep your hair and skin safe during summer!
